LANSING, Mich. — A left-wing activist group took to the Capitol steps to unveil its own version of Gov. Rick Snyder's portrait.

Progress Michigan created the mock portrait to symbolize events that happened during Snyder's tenure, like the Flint Water Crisis, PFAS water contamination and right-to-work legislation.

The group hopes the portrait sends a message to the governor about his legacy.

"It shows all the egregious failures that he's had and that the state has had under his leadership, ... and these are things that the people of Michigan will never forget," said Lonnie Scott, executive director of Progress Michigan.

Progress Michigan also added that they believe his legacy could improve if he strikes down some of the lame-duck legislation arriving on his desk.
