Roadways were slick Friday morning due to snow and icy conditions.
I-96 westbound near Okemos Rd, which is mile marker 110, was down to one lane due to an accident involving multiple cars.
When News 10 arrived on the scene they could see a sedan and a van off the road in a ditch.
State Police were on the scene but no tow trucks in sight.
It could be a while before all highway lanes are reopened.
Cars on 96 eastbound are being pushed to one lane near mile marker 111.
