Lansing Police have identified the driver of a single-car accident that occurred on the morning of Monday, April 18 on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard near Lapeer in Lansing.
The driver, Pedro Noa Riverol, a 30-year-old man from Miami, Florida died of injuries he received in the accident. He was traveling northbound on MLK, when his car hit a utility pole. He was the only person in the car. A stretch of MLK was closed for several hours due to the accident.
Lansing Police say the accident remains under investigation and ask that anyone with information about the accident call 517-483-4600.

A man is in the hospital after wrapping his car around a pole early this morning on Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard in Lansing.
Lansing police tells FOX 47 News the accident happened at 4:47 a.m. They say the driver was headed northbound on Martin Luther King, when he slammed into the pole. Police say speed is a factor in the single-accident crash. The driver was the only one in the car. He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
Lansing resident April Woody tells FOX 47 News the car almost hit her sleeping daughter. Woody says she heard a loud crash and jumped out of bed. Her daughter had been sleeping downstairs and the car was 10 feet away from her. Woody says she is shaken.
MLK between Saginaw and Lapeer Streets in Lansing was closed for several hours this morning. It has since reopened.
