A Texas teenager, with Mid-Michigan ties, has passed away following a bizarre accident earlier this month.
On November 10, Alexis Butler was leaving her driveway in Arlington when her car was hit by a pickup truck.
The man driving the truck told police he didn't see Butler's car because he was taking a court ordered breathalyzer test.
Police say the driver was not impaired.
The 18-year-old went to high school in Battle Creek, and was involved in competitive cheerleading in the Lansing-area.
She was pronounced dead on Friday.
