An abandoned baby was found outside of an adult foster care home in River Rouge on Sunday morning. A care worker at the home found her on the sidewalk.

WXYZ in Detroit reports that police believe she was born about an hour before being found, and she still had the umbilical cord attached and the placenta with the her.

The woman who found the baby told WXYZ she immediately called 911 when she found the baby.

Police are looking to find out who the mother is and where she went. They are asking for the public's help for any information.

The baby was taken to a nearby hospital and is doing well.
