A student panel with students that have experienced foster care will address others in an awareness program on Monday night.
The event hopes to create awareness of youth that live in foster care.
They will discuss the barriers the kids have to overcome and the challenging statistics that surround the success of students that come from foster care situations. They say that only 3% of kids who have experienced foster care graduate with a bachelor's degree.
The panel will be held at the MSU College of Law on April 23 from 6 - 8 PM.
The Michigan State University Fostering Academics Mentoring Excellence program and MSU Chance at Childhood, Art & Soul Dreams, and the MSU College of Law are putting on the event.
A new art exhibit called Art and Soul Dreams will also be open to the public after this event. It will feature the artwork of winning photographers wanting to spread the word that every child is a work of art.
This event is free and open to the public.
