JACKSON, Mich. — A Jackson man is behind bars accused of shooting and killing 19-year-old Kordel Brzozowski Saturday afternoon.

24-year-old Eiron Bankhead was arraigned Monday for the crime.

Jackson police were called to the AutoZone location on Martin Luther King Dr. in Jackson just after noon on Saturday.

They say Bankhead approached the victim inside the AutoZone and started a fight that ended up in the store's parking lot.

After the arraignment, Bryon Brzozowski, Eiron's brother, said, "That was his thing, sports, basketball. Right out here at the YMCA or whether it was at Rotary Park where he grew up or even in my uncle's driveway, playing basketball and meeting new people and bringing excitement. That was Kordell."

Bankhead is being held on no bond.

He's facing life in prison and is scheduled to be back in court on Friday.
