GEORGETOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WSYM) - An 8-year-old boy is dead after going underwater in a West Michigan pool.
The near drowning happened around 2 p.m. Saturday afternoon at a home in Georgetown Township, near the city of Hudsonville.
The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department is identified the boy as Mekhi Davon Ivy.
Bystanders performed CPR until first responders arrived.
Ivy was taken to Helen Devos Children’s Hospital where he later died.
Sheriff’s deputies continue their investigation.
