78-year-old woman injured in highway crash involving semi-truck

Posted

A 78 year-old woman is recovering after colliding with a semi-truck at a busy Mid-Michigan highway interchange Saturday night.

The crash happened at the I-96 west on-ramp from US-127 south.

The woman was attempting to merge into the southbound traffic when she hit the truck.

Her vehicle was overturned during the crash.

She was then extricated with unspecified injuries.

The 50 year-old semi driver from Mt. Morris was not injured in the incident.

The highway was closed for several hours Saturday night, but later partially reopened to allow football traffic from East Lansing through.

Sheriff's Officials say speed and alcohol do not appear to be a factor.
