Police are investigating the apparent drowning of a 3-year-old in western Michigan.
Ottawa County Sheriff's Office Capt. Mark Bennett says the child had been playing a backyard Monday afternoon and somehow got into an above-ground swimming pool.
Bennett tells WZZM-TV first responders were called to a home northwest of Holland. He says the child later was pronounced dead at a hospital.
