Three people are dead after an horrific crash in Jackson County Thursday afternoon. The accident happened at the intersection of McCain and Dearing Roads.

A woman age 26, and her two small children died. Jackson County Sheriff Steve Rand says the mother ran a stop sign while driving east on McCain Road. Her SUV was struck by the driver of a Ford truck traveling southbound on Dearing Road. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Her 4-year old daughter died in the ambulance while on the way to Henry Ford Allegiance hospital. The woman's other child, a 1-year old boy, arrived at the hospital in critical condition. He died at the hospital a little while later. The truck driver was not seriously injured.

The Sheriff's Office is expected to release the identity of the victims soon. There has been an outpouring of support for the family of the victims on social media.

The crash is still under investigation. First Responders say the intersection where the crash happened is dangerous. Several accidents have happened there. Authorities say the problem is drivers have a limited line of sight down Dearing Road.
