2 people shot in Southwest Lansing; suspect on the loose

LANSING, Mich. — Today (1/10/19) at approximately 3:45 p.m. Lansing Police were dispatched to a shooting that just occurred in the 3900 block of Burneway Dr. Upon arrival officers made contact with three female subjects. Officers observed two of the females with apparent gunshot wounds. Officers immediately rendered first-aid treatment on the two females.

Lansing Fire Department medics arrived and took over medical treatment and transported the two injured females to a local hospital. One female is currently in stable condition. One female victim was declared deceased and has been identified as, Hanna Barron, a 19 year old Lansing resident.

Preliminary information on this homicide investigation indicates a male subject in his late teens or early 20’s is the suspect. He is described as: black male, average height, thin build, medium complexion, wearing a dark clothing. Lansing Police Crime Scene Officers, Lansing Detectives, along with the Michigan State Police are currently investigating this case.
