LANSING, Mich. — Formal charges were issued against two men in the June 28, 2019 homicide of Reginald Craig.
A 32-year-old Lansing man had previously been arrested.
The two men were arraigned in 54-A District Court on Monday.
Leonardo Gomes Rosales, 62, of Lansing, was charged with open murder, carrying a concealed weapon, firearm possession of felon, and felony firearm (habitual 3).
His bond was denied.
Hilario Rene Rivera, 32 of Lansing, was charged with one count of accessory after the fact to a felony (habitual 3) with a $100,000 cash bond.
The two will face a probable cause conference on July 11 at 1:30 p.m. and and a preliminary exam on July 18 at 9:30 a.m.
Craig, 43, was killed in a shooting in Old Town outside of his apartment near East Cesar Chavez Avenue and Center Street..
Police say that he had an altercation with Rosales that turned physical and led to the shooting.
Craig leaves behind his 10-year-old daughter.
Friends at the scene told News 10 that Craig was a good guy and didn't deserve to be shot.
They also said they saw that he was shot at least once in his chest.
