As of Tuesday afternoon, the teen is still in critical condition, but he is improving.

Police say they found the gun used in the shooting.

The suspect is being held at the Ingham County Youth Home. 

The Lansing Police Department is investigating a shooting that left a teenager in critical condition Monday night.

Lansing police say the 14-year-old victim showed up at Sparrow Hospital with a gunshot wound around 10:30 p.m.

An investigation later revealed a shooting had taken place in the 1700 block of Teel Avenue a short time before.

The victim underwent surgery and was in critical condition but recovering on Tuesday, police said.

Lansing police tell News 10 a teenage suspect was found in the 3100 block of Turner Road and taken into custody.

The suspect is being held at the Ingham County Youth Home.

Police say they have found the gun used in the shooting.

Lansing police say the shooting does not appear to be a random act and there is no threat to the public.
