Police in Jackson went to pull a vehicle over for driving without headlights, and the vehicle led police on a short pursuit.
The Jackson Police Department says at about 9 p.m. Saturday, an officer attempted to stop the vehicle in the area of Francis and High streets.
The vehicle led the officer on a short pursuit and stopped in the 200 block of Euclid, and five individuals left the vehicle and fled on foot.
Deputy Chief Elmer Hitt said officers were able to locate the driver, a 14-year-old boy, and three female juveniles who were passengers in the vehicle. A fifth male who fled was not located.
The 14-year-old boy was lodged at the Jackson Youth Center, and the three girls were taken to their parents, the department reports.
After apprehending the juveniles, the department learned the vehicle was reported as stolen.
