One person was killed and two others were injured in a crash involving a Captial Area Transportation Authority bus, a car, and an SUV.
The crash happened around 7:25 p.m. on Waverly Road near Bridgeport Road Friday.
Police say two men were traveling in a car when it rear-ended the bus. Lansing police say the two men in that car suffered life-threatening injuries.
In a statement, CATA confirmed one person was killed in the crash.
“We are deeply saddened by news of the fatality"Our hearts go out to the family of the deceased. We are cooperating fully with law enforcement officers on the scene as they investigate the accident. Our bus operator is currently under the care of a physician," CATA CEO Bradley Funkhouser said in a statement Friday evening.
An SUV was also involved in the crash which is still under investigation.
Lansing police say no other injuries were reported.
The crash closed a section of Waverly Road for hours Friday night while police investigated the crash.
Lansing police say more information regarding the crash is expected to be released sometime over the weekend.
