It was the most viewed Super Bowl commercial, and a nostalgic nod to the popular 1993 film "Groundhog Day" starring Bill Murray. During the Big Game on Feb. 2, Jeep introduced its newest Gladiator truck and the commercial went viral across social media.
And what's even cooler is that the Jeep used in the commercial is from a Michigan dealership in Caro, which connects The Mitten to one of the nation's most viewed television events.
Moore Motor Sales provided the Jeep without evening knowing it would be in a Super Bowl commercial, and that it would be viewed over 100 million times on social media.
According to a spokesperson from the dealership, the whole thing was very hush-hush. FCA contacted the dealership asking to use a Gladiator, but didn't say what it would be used for. Workers at Moore Motor Sales didn't figure out the big secret until they say the Jeep in a national commercial on Super Bowl Sunday.
They say the commercial was shot in Illinois, and two Jeep Gladiators were used during filming but only one was from a Michigan dealership.
Now the famous Jeep is back at the Moore Motor Sales lot waiting for a new owner.
