Ingham County Sheriff Scott Wriggelsworth and undersheriff Andrew Bouck are set to be released from jail this morning.
But the pair didn't commit any crimes.
They checked themselves in Sunday night to get a better look at how the jail operates. Both were given jail jump suits and have followed the same rules as other inmates, with no special treatment.
After just a week on the job, Wriggelsworth says he wants to get an immediate feel for the magnitude of the jail operation.
The sheriff and undersheriff are scheduled to get out of jail at 9 a.m.
