It’s official. Cedar Point will have a new roller coaster in place of the wooden Mean Streak, which has been shuttered since 2016.
MLive reported the new roller coaster will be a “hybrid,” combining wood and new steel coaster technologies.
Cedar Point officials said the new roller coaster, which will be in Frontier Town, will open at the beginning of the 2018 season.
The Mean Streak was once the world’s tallest wooden roller coaster when it opened in 1991.
The park released this video last year when it announced the Mean Streak closing.
