If you are planning a last minute Spring Break, it is not too late to get a good deal.
“If you are going to someplace like Porta Verde, if you are going to the Mayan Rivera, they have a lot of specials that are on now for Spring Break,” said travel agent Pamela Nikita with Joan Anderson Travel Service.
She says there is still time to book a plane ticket and recommends going in the middle of the week as opposed to a weekend to get the best bang for your buck.
“Tuesdays, Wednesdays are good days, Thursdays are good days, even sometimes Sunday if you left Sunday in the afternoon, and you then you came back maybe on Thursday evening or Friday,” said Nikita.
Nikita says coming back on a Wednesday and Thursday could also help save money.
Booking a room and getting a deal is still possible. Nikita says somewhere in Florida is going to cost around $250 to $400 a night. If you are looking at the Bahamas, around $500 to $600 a night. Porta Verde will be around $350 to $400 a night.
Keep in mind places like the Bahamas are more likely to be all-inclusive, which drives prices up, so check to see what you are getting included ahead of time.
Where you decide to go depends on who you have in the family.
Nikita recommends a beach setting for younger children, and all-inclusive for older children to take advantage of fun actives included in the trip.
