From cooking to camping and playing volleyball to board games, Isabella is an outgoing and engaging girl who hopes to be adopted out of foster care.
“My personality? I’m really bubbly. I’m happy. I’m funny,” said Isabella – who is 16 years old and currently in foster care in Michigan.
She loves sports like volleyball, basketball, and cheerleading. She also enjoys swimming and dreams of visiting Malibu, California, one day.
“I want a pet dog. I love dogs. My first dog was a poodle. She didn’t like me, but I loved her. Her name was Emma,” she said with a smile.
Her favorite subject in school is gym class. Her least favorite is math. One of her main goals when she gets older is to join the military.
“I want to be in the Marines like my aunt,” said Isabella proudly.
Faith is also something that is important to her. When faced with troubled times, she tends to focus on self-reflection.
“She writes out goals for the week and has a gratitude list, thoughtfully assessing where she has succeeded and where she needs to work on her goals,” said Isabella’s mentor.
“I’m unique because I care for a lot of people. They can be mean to me, but I’m still going to care for you,” Isabella explained.
“Isabella enjoys making people laugh, and she also enjoys helping others,” said her worker.
The teen can’t wait to find her forever family.
“I’m looking forward to having a Mom and a Dad,” said Isabella. “As long as I have a home, a caring family that helps me and feeds me and takes me to school, that’s all good.”
“I think it’s important for teens to be adopted because…some people don’t want teenagers. They want younger ones because teenagers can be a hassle sometimes. But if you’re, like, out there, [and] you can adopt some teenagers, take them into your home to, like, help them and stuff,” she added.
