Gennevieve dreams of having a mom, dad and sibling to play with every day

Whether she’s outside playing basketball, listening to music, or learning French, Gennevieve is always willing to try new things.

But the 13-year-old really hopes to share those experiences one day with her future adoptive parents.

“I would want a Mom and a Dad, and I’d want a brother or a sister. I’d just want a sibling that I could always play with,” said Gennevieve – a foster child in Michigan who also sometimes goes by “Evie.”

“Family members are people who care about you,” she said.

She’s an animal lover who also enjoys being active.

Soccer is her favorite sport, and she likes to be competitive!

She competed in two championship tournaments two years in a row, and the second season her team won.

“I was the goalie the whole time, and we shut them out. They didn’t get any goals,” she said proudly.

She said she’s the kind of person who “lifts people up when they fall.”

If she sees a kid who looks a little sad or they seem like they don’t have a friend, she’ll go play with them.

Gennevieve has been waiting to be adopted since April of 2018.
