A controversy over the Pledge of Allegiance at Grand Valley State University is continuing.

The university's student senate decided to bring back the pledge at its meetings.

This comes after last week, when members voted to pull the pledge because it wasn't inclusive to international students or students of different religions.

That decision drew major criticism, so the pledge is back.

The student senate tweeted, "We contemplated the many diverse perspectives of students and stakeholders, and through deliberative dialogue, we worked to find a solution that we believe will meet the needs of all students."

The Pledge of Allegiance will now be included on each student agenda, and students will have the option to sit or stand.
