The Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island has won numerous awards and topped rankings across the country, and they were just voted the best historic hotel in the United States.
USA Today readers named the hotel the best historic hotel as part of the 10Best Readers' Choice 2017 Awards.
USA Today 10Best editors chose the initial 20 nominees which were then voted on by readers across the country.
It comes only two weeks after Travel + Leisure Magazine announced the Grand Hotel was ranked No. 2 among the top five Best Resort Hotels for 2017 in the Midwest.
“Maintaining the historical character of our hotel means a lot more to us than simply preserving the physical structure of this 131-year-old building,” Grand Hotel President Dan Musser III said in a release. “We are committed to creating an entire experience for each one for our guests, always striving to exemplify our time-honored traditions of top-tier customer service and matchless hospitality. To our guests, Grand Hotel is more than just a place, it’s a collection of memories to be treasured."
Over the last two years, the Grand Hotel has won nearly a dozen awards across the country.
