The push is on for Michigan to stand up and be counted in the 2020 census.

A statewide town hall tour kicked off in Pontiac Monday. Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel and a team of bipartisan Oakland County Officials stressed the importance of taking part.

The count determines the formula for a decade of federal funding. It affects things like public safety, education and roads.

Invitations to respond to the census go out next month.

For the first time ever, you will be able to respond by phone or online – as well as by mail.
