Final trailer for 'Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker' released and fans can hardly contain themselves

The big reveal of the final trailer for "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker" premiered at half-time during the New England Patriots vs New York Jets game Monday night and fans are in a frenzy.

In a seconds-long teaser, the Star Wars Twitter account let fans know to tune in to Monday Night Football for the official release of the trailer, and fans couldn't wait.

"Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker" will hit theaters on Dec. 20, and tickets are already on sale .

The tickets went on sale during the Monday Night Football game, according to the online publication CNET . This is symbolic in a way because Oct. 21 is Carrie Fisher's birthday. The original Princess Leia died from sleep apnea, according to a Los Angeles coroner, in December 2016.
