Family and friends are reaching out to support a 6-year-old girl whose father sacrificed his own life to save hers.
Bill and Madelynn Noritz of Farmington Hills, Michigan were in Jacksonville, Florida for his Bill's funeral over the weekend when a visit to the beach turned tragic.
A riptide grabbed Maddie and started to sweep her away.
We're told Bill was able to save her, but then could not save himself.
People in Michigan who knew him say he was a devoted father whose world revolved around his little girl.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to help support Maddie through the heartbreak.
The goal is to raise $15,000.
