A man from Inkster was gunned down in cold blood during a fishing trip up north. His family insists answers about what really happened are being covered up.

Andrew Ward tells us his uncle feared for his life after getting racist threats.

Forty-three-year-old Brodrick aka "Brock" Ward had complained of fearing for his life, days prior to be being found dead.

He was found by his nephew with a gunshot wound to the chest.

"Wind blew the curtain open and I saw my uncle's shoes laying on the ground, and I just knew that was my uncle," says nephew Andre Ward.

The Kalkaska County Sheriff's Office issued a statement saying the death was drug related. Ward was found inside a rental property on November 21st.

"He was a father. Grandfather. Another grandchild on the way. Really outgoing. Calm. Helped everyone he could especially his mom," says Andre.

Two defendants, Terrance Jordan and Jason Morgan are both charged with his murder and armed robbery. Both are being held on 10 million dollars bond.

"I'm not really sure what happened. We have a lot of unanswered questions and I just don't have any answers right now," says Andre.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help with funeral expenses.
