LANSING, Mich. — The Michigan Lottery has played a big role in funding education in our state, which is why it has teamed up with FOX 47 News to recognize excellent educators state-wide.
Kathryn Gonzales, a teacher at Handley IB World School in Saginaw is this week's Michigan Lottery Excellence in Education award winner. In her nomination video, Michelle Brandt says, "she not only treats us well inside of the classroom but in sports as well "
Kathryn commented, "When your an educator it's not just what you do at the school to be there and to be part of outside of the school and to realize that it's a community"
Kathryn was recognized with a $1,500 check from the Michigan Lottery and her school will receive a $500 grant!
