LANSING, Mich. — The Michigan Lottery has played a big role in funding education in our state, which is why it has teamed up with FOX 47 News to recognize excellent educators state-wide.
Beth Thompson, a teacher at Maro Elementary in Maro, Michigan is this week's Michigan Lottery Excellence in Education award winner. Her nominator says, " We can thank you for many projects that you have spearheaded which has made our school a wonderful place to learn and work. Congratulations Beth. "
As Beth explained, "What I went into teaching for was to make an impact and make a change and so every part of what I do plays a big role in what I do everyday at school. Be good at what I do, I want to do good and so I'm trying to do that in our community. " This is why she is this week's excellence in education award winner.
Beth was recognized with a $1,500 check from the Michigan Lottery and her school will receive a $500 grant!
