LANSING, Mich. — The Michigan Lottery has played a big role in funding education in our state, which is why it has teamed up with FOX 47 News to recognize excellent educators state-wide.
Amber Keathley, a teacher at Northwest Early Elementary in Jackson is this week's Michigan Lottery Excellence in Education award winner. In her nomination video Sarah Runkel says, "How you educate them, how you communicate with their parents and let us be a part of this journey"
Amber commented, "I'm blown away, I teach to empower kids to show them that they can be in control of their learning and they are in charge of their destiny."
Amber was recognized with a $1,500 check from the Michigan Lottery and her school will receive a $500 grant!
The Excellence in Education award is sponsored by the Michigan Lottery, proud to provide more than $23 billion to support public education since 1972!
