Janae Russell from the East Jordan School District joins us as this week's Michigan Lottery Excellence in Education Award winner.
So we received a very nice letter from your nominee that says that you've been in education for 16 years and counting but you go above and beyond the call of duty when it comes to teaching.
"Every kid has to believe that there is something out there for them and that they have to have a goal to work toward and I just have to help them realize their potential and know they they will succeed if they will only work. I just have kids that come back to me and they all say thank you and those are the moments that you cherish."
Janae receives a $1500 check from the Michigan Lottery and her class at East Jordan Middle High School receives a $500 grant.
