Kristen Schwartzenberger from Saline Middle School joins us as this week's Michigan Lottery Excellence in Education Award winner.
We received a video describing what a wonderful teacher you are and so I'd like to show that to you.
"I don't think there is anybody that deserves this award more than you do and I thank everyday that we got to know Mrs. S. for as long as we did."
Kristen Schwartzenberger mentioned that "I think the teachers I remember the most are the ones that I felt that I had the best connection to. I try with my students to kind of find a way to have a relationship and a connection with them that is doesn't have anything to do with the school. By getting to know them and being a part of their lives in and outside of the classroom, I think it is a good thing."
Kristen receives a $1500 check from the Michigan Lottery and his class at Saline Middle School receives a $500 grant.
