Christine Burkhardt-Messner from Garden City Schools joins us as this week's Michigan Lottery Excellence in Education Award winner.
We received a really nice letter and it says "you give tirelessly of your time and attention to your students in the classroom. You really make an impact in the student's lives." Why do you do what you do?
"I'm just passionate about children. I love going to their baseball games. I love making connections with them. If it's not making connections with them academically, then I like to connect with them socially and emotionally. It makes them want to try a little harder maybe to impress me. I think that makes a difference."
