Eminem represented Detroit at the 2020 Oscars with a live performance of "Lose Yourself" from his 2002 motion picture 8 Mile.
The Detroit rapper won an Oscar in 2003 for "Lose Yourself" for Best Original Song.
He didn't attend the award show, and later told several outlets that he stayed in metro Detroit and just fell asleep that night. Right after his performance, he posted on Twitter.
Look, if you had another shot, another opportunity... Thanks for having me @TheAcademy . Sorry it took me 18 years to get here. pic.twitter.com/CmSw2hmcZo
