A driver slammed into an elderly couple leaving the Wal-Mart in Lyon Township Tuesday afternoon with their shopping cart, then took off, and it was all caught on camera.
Witnesses stepped up to help. They say the driver parked the truck, then went into Wal-Mart.
Deputies found out the man’s name from business cards in the truck. When they finally interviewed him, he said he was the victim.
He stated it was some kind of insurance scam.
“He claimed the people waved him to move ahead, which the video shows they did not,” said Lt Mark Venus.
A judge has since approved a warrant for Rodney Allen Snider from Lyon Township. He is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday.
As for the couple he allegedly hit, they were treated and released from the hospital after this horrifying ordeal.
The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office says this case isn’t the only one Snider is facing. Snider had a warrant out for his arrest in Redford for operating a vehicle under the influence.
