If you are traveling today for Thanksgiving, be sure to give yourself extra time.

Today is one of the busiest travel days of the year.

The airport says they are on pace to serve the most amount of passengers this year since 2008.

Detroit Metro Airport made a few changes this year to help keep your travel day low-stress. They've re-opened runway infrastructure to increase arrival and departure capacity and they've increased their WiFi service which is free.

If you're heading to the airport remember you cannot park or leave your car unattended at the passenger pick-up and drop-off areas.

Remember you can use the cell phone lot while waiting for someone to arrive.

Arrive early: the airport recommends getting here 90 minutes before your flight and two hours if you're flying international.

Do not wrap any gifts, they may have to be unwrapped and opened by TSA security.
