Detroit's Atwater Brewery is releasing "Whango," a mango wheat fruit ale, just in time for spring.

Atwater will be tapping Whango at each of its Michigan taphouses on Friday, March 8, at 4 p.m. Whango will also be available at retailers and brew pubs across the state.

One of Atwater's seasonal brews, Whango is an American-style fruity wheat beer.

"Spring and summer seasons are precious in Michigan," said Mark Rieth, Atwater owner. "And nothing completes the perfect ballgame, trip to the beach or backyard BBQ quite like a Whango. If summer could be poured into a bottle, it would look and taste like Whango."

In previous years, Whango completely sold out just a couple months into its run. Rieth committed to increasing production this year to ensure it will remain on the shelf throughout summer.
