The Detroit Branch of the NAACP will hold a news conference to address Michigan State Police practices and policies following controversial Facebook comments made by MSP Director Kriste Kibbey Etue.
Etue is under investigation after calling out NFL players for knelling for the national anthem, calling them "ingrates" and "degenerates." There have been many calls for her resignation, but Governor Snyder said he would not ask for her resignation.
Reverend Dr. Wendell Anthony, President of the Detroit Branch of the NAACP will be joined by the ACLU, Congressman John Conyers, Jr. and other leaders. They addressed diversity in the department and MSP's testing practices.
Reverend Anthony called on Governor Snyder to get more involved with correcting the issues and deal with the director's comments appropriately.
"We think she should resign," Reverend Anthony said.
