Detroit businessman, Dan Gilbert, attended the North American International Auto Show for the first time as a presenter.
His Robb Report is a luxury magazine and a first year partner and presenter at the show.
"Normally, I'm a spectator at this beautiful show. Every time I walk through here and look around, I'm just sort of in awe,”said Gilbert
Robb Report is offering live coverage and interviews at the show. The magazine’s biggest online article ever was actually a preview of what to expect at NAIAS.
"We thought it would fit in real nice here,” said Gilbert.
As the auto show grows, Gilbert expects the same to continue to happen in the city he loves.
"There's a lot of optimism around Detroit itself and in the comeback, not only in the Detroit itself, but in the car business,” said Gilbert.
He told 7 Action News, new development is on the horizon for the city.
"Residential occupancy is at 100%, but we're going to see vertical happen now, we're going to see new construction in downtown Detroit, the uses of office space and residential are full,” said Gilbert.
He expects that vertical construction to happen soon.
"How long has it really been since we've seen cranes up in the sky, building new construction projects, that's when people really start to believe in the long term,” said Gilbert.
He expects Robb Report to continue to be a presence at the NAIAS for years to come.
