It's time to crack open a cold one and take a sip, but it's going to cost you. How much? Today Jared Cotter is looking at how much your state will tax you priced by the gallon of beer.
1. Oregon at 8 Cents a Gallon
This is the lowest tax on the list and is big business for the Beaver state.
2. Illinois at 23 Cents a Gallon
This Land of Lincoln state is right in the middle of the list and is home to the oldest brewing school, SIEBEL Institute of Technology.
3. Alabama at $1.05 a Gallon
This is the highest on the list and is one of the twelve states that observe Blue laws prohibiting the sale of booze on Sunday. Bootleggers still run booze in this state!
