Gov. Gretchen Whitmer in an interview with WWJ Tuesday said that the state won't be moving into phase 5 of the reopening plan as she had hoped.
Whitmer told WWJ that her plan was to move the rest of the state into phase 5 ahead of the Fourth of July.
Gov. Whitmer's office said she hasn't ruled out a move by the Fourth of July, however, officials will continue to monitor data.
Michigan entered phase 4 of the MI Safe Start plan in early June, which was followed by the lifting of the stay-at-home order, and the re-opening of bars and restaurants.
