State Sen. Minority Leader Jim Ananich tests positive for COVID-19

State Sen. Jim Ananich, the State Senate Minority Leader, announced Friday he has tested positive for COVID-19.

The Democrat from Flint said he is feeling OK and is recovering at home.

"I haven't been at the Senate since exposure and I'm following my doctor's advice and all MDHHS protocols," he tweeted.

Michigan reported a record number of COVID-19 cases on Thursday and reported another 3,763 cases and 43 deaths on Friday.

With those numbers, the state crossed more than 200,000 total cases.
