Saturday Night Live's Cecily Strong was honestly blown away by the care package she received from Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer after playing her in a sketch a week ago.
"Got a giant and gorgeous Michigan care package sent to New York courtesy of that super cool woman from Michigan ❤️💙❤️," Strong wrote in an Instagram post Saturday. "Thank you @gewhitmer !!! Honestly, this blew me away! And thank you @sudigreen and @frangillespie for always writing wonderful funny pieces. I’m sorry I can’t share with you in person, so cheers to you from afar!"
The package contained an assortment of Michigan beers, which is a poke at the sketch showing Whitmer drinking a Labatt Blue.
Whitmer told 7 Action News' Brian Able that Labatt wouldn't have been her choice beer as a Michigander.
“If I was writing the script I would have made sure we had a great Michigan craft beer in it, not a Labatt’s,” the governor said.

Just asked @GovWhitmer about it:
