Sleeping Bear Dunes announced it was closing bathrooms after people vandalized them over the weekend stealing toilet paper and hand sanitizer.
According to Park Superintendent Scott Tucker, people unrolled the toilet paper and also broke the hand-sanitizing stations to steal bags of Purell.
The Purell containers were taken out of the walls and officials say a portion of the toilets on site had theft or damage.
"Something as simple as clean restroom requires us now to look out for our staff as well as the public in new ways," said Park Supertindent Scott Tucker.
At the dunes, all park trails and beaches will remain open, and the National Parks Service is urging people to practice Leave No Trace principles, including pack-in and pack-out, to keep outdoor spaces safe.
