WALKER, Mich. — Restaurant owners, lawmakers and others coming together indoors at the Deltaplex in Walker, MI, to push to lift the indoor dining ban on restaurants in Michigan.
The event included a food truck and selling gift cards to support local restaurants who have kept their doors shut.
"I personally am tired of seeing small businesses, restaurant owners go out of business, lose their life savings. Their employees are sitting with no income, and these people want to open up, and they can do it safely," said Joel Laglois, owner of the Deltaplex.

“It is a crime for us to provide for food for our families and put food on the table. Just looking at the things she has done; it is very clear that the concept of leadership is absent,” Rep. Posthumus.
The hope is to prevent even more restaurants from closing their doors.
"These people have their life savings in their restaurant. Their employees are going without, and they have to walk away from these things that they have put their blood, sweat and tears into and lose their life savings because they can’t open up. And it is very frustrating to sit back," said Laglois.
Governor Whitmer currently has extended the ban until Feb. 1.
