No summer shutdown for key FCA plants in Michigan this year

Key FCA plants to keep working through usual summer shutdown

and last updated

Fiat Chrysler is skipping this year's summer shutdown at key assembly plants in Michigan.

FCA's Jefferson North and Sterling Heights assembly plants will keep running, while the Warren Truck plant will be down for the weeks of June 29 and July 6.

Auto plants usually pause for a couple of weeks during the summer for model changeover.

FCA isn't saying why it'll keep working with these plants, it could be due to making up loss time as a result of the coronavirus lockdown.
