Michigan reports 852 new cases of COVID-19, 88 deaths

(WSYM) — There are 574,224 total confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Michigan, the state reported Saturday.

Additionally, there are 15,150 total deaths. That's up 852 cases and 88 deaths from the day before. Eighty-four of the newly reported deaths were discovered during a review of vital records.

Additionally, there are another 54,732 probable cases reported and another 969 probable deaths.

COVID-19 case rates in Michigan have steadily declined, state officials say. The state also says 517,991 people have recovered as of February 12.

Cases are down 81% from their peak in mid-November. The test positivity rate is 4.5%. Only 6% of hospital beds are being used to treat COVID-19 patients, officials say.

Eleven percent of Michiganders age 16 and up have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Additionally, there is a 16% increase in the amount of vaccine coming into the state.
