Michigan reports 796 new COVID-19 cases, 7 deaths

LANSING, Mich. — There are now 88,756 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Michigan and 6,264 deaths.

That's up 796 cases and seven deaths from the day before.

So far, 63,636 have recovered from the virus in Michigan, according the state's latest COVID-19 numbers.

The governor's office said every region in Michigan has seen an uptick in new cases over the past several weeks, and daily case counts in late July exceeded 50 cases per million statewide.

The statewide positivity rate has also increased from a low of 2% in mid-June to 3.5% in late July.
