The State of Michigan reported 5,909 new COVID-19 cases and 191 deaths on Tuesday, including 79 deaths identified in a Vital Records review. That brings the total number of cases to 410,295 and the total number of deaths from COVID-19 to 10,138.
The State of Michigan surpassed 400,000 total cases of COVID-19 on Monday, just less than nine months after the first cases were confirmed on March 10.
The 400,000 case mark came on the same day that Gov. Gretchen Whitmer announced the COVID-19 restrictions would be extended for 12 more days until Dec. 20.
